Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy like counselling is something that we can turn to during challenging times. It is also an opportunity to get to know ourselves better, to give us more freedom in how we choose to live, and to explore our full potential. Therapy is a process which requires courage and patience. In return it can offer great rewards.
I am a senior student of Core Process Psychotherapy – a contemplative, mindfulness-based approach. This approach combines contemporary Western psychotherapy with Eastern awareness practices that have their roots in Buddhist psychology.
By bringing mindfulness to our experiences, we can become clearer about what is really going on. This can allow us to approach our difficulties in a more thoughtful, less reactive way so that real choice in each situation can then become apparent. You do not have to be Buddhist to benefit.
In Core Process Psychotherapy, the mind and body are not two separate entities but an interlinked system.
